COSMO is supported synergically by different institutions and programs in Italy and in the UK. The PNRA (Programma Nazionale di Ricerche in Antartide) funded the cryogenic system, optics, and logistic support for the Concordia base (PI Silvia Masi, partner institutions UniMI (Mennella), UniMIB (Zannoni)) An ancillary PNRA proposal supported the development of KID detector arrays and coupling optics (PI Elia Battistelli, partner institutions CNR-IFN (Pettinari), UniMI, UniMIB) A PRIN (Programma di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale) supported the development of optical design and construction of the cryogenic interferometer (PI P. de Bernardis, partners CNR-IFN (Cibella, Pettinari), UniMI, UniMIB) A FIS2 (Fondo Italiano per la Scienza, PI P. de Bernardis) funded the development of the instrument shelter and the commissioning campaign in a mountain site before shipment to Antarctica A parallel PNRA proposal supports the calibration activities (PI P. de Bernardis, co-I F. Nati UniMIB, A. Mennella UniMI) Cardiff University (Pisano, Tucker) are supporting the development of quasi optical components. The University of Manchester (Piccirillo) supports the development of the sub-K cooler. |
